Introduction

This website  advertises unique furniture for sale in Scotland (and perhaps one day soon, England too). None of the furniture is produced in factories or is imported from abroad. All is unique, for all the furniture for sale here is hand made or antique or is a bit of both.
desk and chair   Each item of furniture for sale will have its own page, with a full description, photographs, a price, who made it, or when it was made, and where it is. The cost of listing each item for a year will be £8. There may be a link to an ebay shop in the future.
The gallery is no shop. Visitors will not be able to put items into a shopping basket and then proceed to the checkout. All purchases will have to be from the seller. However, the showroom may help with credit card purchases. But these will have to be charged at 6%. This surcharged should be split by the buyer and seller.
side table/desk   Some think it is madness to expect customers to buy expensive furniture unseen. Sellers should be prepared to organise a viewing. If the customer lives very far away and the maker won't travel themselves, this raises many issues: transportation and who pays for it, where the piece is viewed, how the money is to be collected, and how is the work to be returned if not bought? A trusted courier will transport pieces most anywhere. Public viewings may be organised at specific events, from exhibitions at the SECC to car boot sales, if necessary.
This website began specifically as a gallery for cabinet makers. What it will grow into is anyone's guess. Meanwhile, there is a link to the websites of cabinet makers and furniture designer makers throughout Britain. If you are not listed and would like to be, please email. If you would like to be removed (but it is hard to see why that would be the case), please email. If you would like to advertise a piece of furniture for sale, please email. And, finally, if you would like to talk in person, please email (first).
